Frequently Asked Questions

Is StellarFi legit?

Yes. StellarFi is a real US company, a certified Public Benefit Corporation founded in 2021 and based in Austin, Texas, that raised a $15 million Series A led by Acrew Capital. It reports on-time activity to the credit bureaus. It is legit. The wrinkle in 2026 is that StellarFi has largely moved away from its original bill-reporting subscription and toward a credit card product, so what it is has changed.

Does StellarFi still report your bills to build credit?

Mostly no, and this matters. StellarFi's original model paid your bills and reported them as a tradeline, but the company has transitioned to its Smart Card credit-card product, and the pure bill-reporting subscription has been kicked to the side. If your specific goal is to report existing bills you already pay, StellarFi is no longer the clean fit it once was, and a rent reporter or Experian Boost may be more on point.

How much does StellarFi cost in 2026?

The current Smart Card lineup has three tiers: Silver, a secured card, at $0 a year; Gold, semi-secured, at a $49 annual fee; and Stellarite, unsecured, at a $99 annual fee. These replaced the old bill-reporting subscription tiers, so ignore any older $4.99 to $29.99 monthly figures you see quoted, and confirm the current pricing on StellarFi's site since the product is in transition.

Does StellarFi report to all three bureaus?

The Smart Card reports to all three, Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. Worth knowing: the retired bill-reporting model reported to only Experian and Equifax, not TransUnion, and during the banking-partner transition some reporting was limited to Experian. So the all-three coverage applies to the card, and details have been in flux, which is a reason to verify before you rely on it.

Is StellarFi bill reporting worth it?

For the original promise, turning your existing bills into credit history, StellarFi is no longer really the tool, because it moved to a card. If you want a credit card that builds history and you like the Public Benefit Corporation mission, the Smart Card can be worth it, especially the $0 Silver tier. But if your actual goal is reporting bills or rent you already pay, look at a dedicated rent reporter or a builder that still does that.

StellarFi vs Credit Booster AI: what is the difference?

StellarFi is now a credit card that builds history through card usage. Credit Booster AI builds and fixes: it scans all three bureaus, flags likely errors, drafts the paperwork to challenge them, and reports rent and bills to add history, for $9.99 a month. If you want a card, StellarFi is one. If your score is low because of errors, or you want your existing bills to count, that is the job Credit Booster AI does and StellarFi does not.
